how and wich oil / fat do you use? used or new?How can you make your diesel car run off half diesel half oil / fat?
There are many internet forums dedicated to this topic, you might want to hunt them out
Summary is:
You need to use an old engine, not a common rail
You need a heater aroudn the fuel pipe
You need to increase the fuel pressure
You need to throw in a tank of diesel every so often to keep the pipes clean.
If you do that, you can run it on 100% used cooking fat.
problems:
Cars can be slow to start
You need a source of oil and somewhere to keep it.
They stink of fish and chips when they are cold
Its not a long term solution becasue as more people convert the supply of cookign oil will dry up and prices will go up.How can you make your diesel car run off half diesel half oil / fat?
bio diesel is widely available now. just fill up as normal I have a new fiesta tdci which runs great on it, only downfall is that it smells like a fish and chip shop when you stand behind it. Still get 60mpg and it costs 85p per plitre
i once did a masive answer to a question like this.
you have to take loads into account, you cant jsut used any old sunflower oil and expect it to work.
Depends on the vehicle: email me some details %26amp; I'll help you out.
I have a Nissan Terrano II 2.7TD running on 60% diesel / 40% svo (straight vegetable oil-new, unused stuff). Runs great!
