Is there a real diference in my car mileage if I change to a high mileage oil?

I have a 1997 chevy cavalier, 205,000 miles on it. I use 5W30, usually castrol. Is there a real diference in my car mileage if I change to a high mileage oil?
If you're not having problems with your current oil, there is no reason to switch to a ';high mileage'; oil. High Milage oil is not junk though - it's just that not every high mileage engine needs it.

If you have a little bit of an oil leak, your engine consumes oil ( when you check the dipstick, it's low - but you havent noticed oil spots on the driveway ) or it smokes then you might want to try it.

High mileage oil has additives that prevent burnoff if it gets into the combustion chamber ( what causes smoke ), additives to help soften seals ( helps make them expand and slow or stop leaks ). Beyond those benefits, a high mileage oil is no different than your standard oil.Is there a real diference in my car mileage if I change to a high mileage oil?
high mileage oil is junk...

and is all a myth.

if coke made a coca cola for people 40+ everybody 40 and over would drink it thinking its healthier...but in the long run is the same stuff.

your paying for the name on the bottle...and transmission additives that swell up the seals in your motor....along with a whole bunch of other crap.

just use regular or synthetic oil...one of the top causes of engine wear is switching different types of oils all the time...use one kind of oil..and stick with it.
No Castrol High mileage oil has additives that help keep the seals and gaskets in your engine in good working condition so you dont burn oil or develope oil leaks, this however has little to do with mileage
