My car is leaking oil it looks like it's leaking from the oil pan?

it's been leaking about a month %26amp; i checked the dipstick this morning %26amp; it's still a little bit over the full lineMy car is leaking oil it looks like it's leaking from the oil pan?
Are you positive it's oil? Possibly transmission fluid?

If it is oil, if it's a drop here or two then you wouldn't see a dramatic decrease in oil on the dipstick. My car is leaking oil it looks like it's leaking from the oil pan?
always check the oil once the car has gotton warm and shut the engine off, doing it when its cold will give a false reading. if its coming fro mthe oil pan, its one of 2, the pan gasket or the drain plug (bolt). if its a simple drop here n there, id just wait til the next oil change to have it done. the pan gasket is about 10-12 and for the plug another 1.50.
dont be fooled .if theres any leaking going on above the pan gasket, its going to run down right to the pan and youl think its the pan,so take a closer look at it and make sure its nothing else.
It sounds like you overfilled it with oil. The only way to fix a bad oilpan gasket is to replace it. They can be a little tricky, get a repair manual.
