100 miles west of denver i'm moving to

i have a 2002 chevy prizm that burns a quart every 1000miles or less at 800 feet above sea level

should i use 10w-30?

is 85 octane really ok up at that elevation? What types of oil and gasoline should i use for the car at 9,000 feet above sea level?
i'm still doing the:

5w-30 winter

10w-30 summer

85 octane is fine .. the higher octane is only there to reduce knocks on your engine caused by compression. so, at high altitude, the engine draws in less air (due to lack of oxygen) resulting in a reduced compression in the cylinder..What types of oil and gasoline should i use for the car at 9,000 feet above sea level?
elevation has nothing to do with oil weight or octane. you are going into a colder climate so the 1030 should be fine. the 85 octane could present a problem, i would look in the owners manual and see what is recommended there and stick with that.
first of all where can you buy 85 octane its 87 octane and a higher octane would prevent detonation airplanes use 100 octane and they also have lead in it to prevent detonation but i wouldnt worry about it unless your engine is running funny

oil shoulnt matter
Your best bet is to ask a chevy dealership or some backyard mechanic at autozone or Napa
Yes, Yes. Why?
