When i over filled oil in my car it would not accelerate properly.it would stall and then later catch on.?

the engine would rev up the rpms but i am not picking up any speed until it eventually catchs. this happen for a bit, but now seems to work probably only now i am burning more gas. the oil level is over the max.what should i do,and now that it appears to run ok, i am still burning more gas than usual.should i drained out all oil and then re-fill it to its proper level or did i damage the engine. When i over filled oil in my car it would not accelerate properly.it would stall and then later catch on.?
You have two sperate and non-related problems.

Overfilling the engine oil is not a big thing, and it has little to do with road speed.

Gas consumption is related to how well you drive the car and the effectiveness of the engine's combustion and ignition systems. When was it last tuned up ?

How many miles ago was the engine last ajusted for proper timing and spark plug gap and when were the fuel injectors last cleaned ? All of those things will affect gas consumption adversely. Is the air filter clogged ? Is the transmission slipping

You need to find a reliable mechanic and get it fixed properly , otherwise you are just wasting money on gas and polluting the air we all breath.

Drain the excess oil. More oil could be detrimental to the proper running of your engine. The excess oil laps against the lower part of the pistons which adds to the resistance and consequently increases gas consumption. It also deters the engine from spinning freely.
Definitely drain the oil and add the correct amount.

The excess oil can cause some rather expensive damage to some internal parts.

The loss of performance and fuel efficiency is because the crank shaft is at least partially submersed in the oil. If this is allowed to continue, it could result in a bent or broken connecting rod or a broken crank shaft. You also risk blowing out some seals in the engine which would cause some severe oil leaks. Any of these conditions will cost lots of money to repair.
