If it is turning off at stop signs, it could be a weak battery or your throttle body needs cleaned because it won't let enough air in to keep it running at idle. Get someone to check your battery first and go from their.Possible symptoms of failure in the oil pressure sensor in a car.?
Joe ,take the car to a mechanic. don't be guessing,

may be as serious as oil pump. may total your car.
check the oil pressure gauge. if it's in the middle, then oil pressure is fine. it sounds like there is a problem with a sensor associated with acceleration, like a throttle sensor or because it shut off at a light, it could be a idle speed motor, or idle air control valve. take it to a shop regardless.
The symptoms of a bad oil pressure sensor would be evident on the oil pressure guage, if there is one. It would read all the way to one side of the scale or the other. Most failures show no oil pressure when the sensor goes bad.
