If you haven't changed your catalytic converter and you have 120,000 miles on your car, could that burn oil?

2003 jeep liberty I drive it 100 miles a day doing mail burns a quart of oil a weekIf you haven't changed your catalytic converter and you have 120,000 miles on your car, could that burn oil?
the catalyic converter has nothing to do with your engine burning oil, you need to have the engine compression checked and possibly the valve seals need replaced. If you haven't changed your catalytic converter and you have 120,000 miles on your car, could that burn oil?
It's not your catalytic converter. Most likely it's that you piston rings are worn. You can try to treat them with an engine treatment and that may lessen the amount of oil you are burning. Also switching to higher mileage oil or synthetic oil will also help.

But if you are burning oil, you will clog up your catalytic converter eventually.
no that is very unlikely , most likely you have possibly bad rings in a cylinder or valve guides are worn letting oil into the

cylinders
While I agree with all the previous answers, i.e. that it is not the cat that is causing the problem.....

It is possible that the cat is partially blocked, causing more back pressure, making engine run hotter, and burning more oil.

Thus if burning oil is your only problem, then it is not the cat. But if you have other problems associated with a partially blocked exhaust, it could be the cat that is causing that, but it was probably blocked by burning oil, so you have to fix the original problem anyway.
No. Catalytic converter is on the exhaust, it has nothing to do with you burning your oil. You are probably burning it and it going through your exhaust, but it would be from something like bad piston rings, or some internal engine issues.
ok the catalitic converter is only used to filter carbon and such junk like that out of your exhaust, it will have no effect on your oils life or the burning of it. at 120,000 miles you shouldnt have any piston ring wear. hmmm. it seems to be like you have an advanced problem, are you getting really bad gas mileage??? email me back, or otherwise that might have to be taken to the dealer.
