Your best bet is to find a local independant mechanic who has a good reputation and yrs. of experience with BWMs.Where can i get oil changed for my bmw325xi but my car dealership?
^ ^ ^ +1
Actually, most areas that have BMW dealerships also have a handful of private mechanics (most that used to work at the dealerships) that specialize in BMWs.
Get on some owner's forums as well...I'm not sure what forums there are out there...but doing a search here in Yahoo you should be able to find forums and then find other BMW owners in your area to ask.
You can do it your own driveway!
BMW 3-series engines are easy to do an oil change.
* the filter element is about $25 at a dealer, about $15 at an auto parts store (eg. Fram.)
* you need about 6 quarts of full synthetic oil (5W-30 or 5W-40) grade. Don't use a synthetic blend. Cost: $5 to $6 per qt. ( use Mobil-1.
Total cost: $45 to $60 depending where you get your parts.
While you are at it, replace the air filter and cabin air microfilter and save yourself about 30 minutes of professional labor costs.
You can ask the dealer to reset the oil service indicator on your dashboard - they have a special electronic code reader tool which connects to the On Board Diagnostics port to reset the computer. A good dealer won't even charge you for that service - ask in advance if they'll do it if you buy the filters from them.
I have done all my own oil changes, brakes, %26amp; more, and my 323i has 95K miles. Still runs like a top.
Check the link for how to do this procedure. Pelican Parts also sells all the filters, repair books, repair procedures and nearly everything you need to work on your BMW. (I don't work for them but have bought parts from them. Good service and reputable.)
Good luck.
