If my car is leaking oil can that make the check engine light come on?

i have a 1992 lexus and it was leaking oil and i bought a liquid to stop the leak and days later the check engine light came on i dont know what causeIf my car is leaking oil can that make the check engine light come on?
if the oil level gets low enough, you can loose oil pressure, this lack of pressure is what turns that light on. so indirectly yes an oil leak can turn that light on. check the oil level and add enough to make it read full and that light should go out for a while.
