my oil is low and Im pretty sure that when I change it then the car will stop shaking. Like it sounds kinda like a train right now. Like its chugging or something. I own a shop, and you need oil in the engine, or it will lock up, and stop running altogether. Put some oil in it, and go to Auto Zone. They will be happy to pull the codes from your computer (for free) and tell you why the light is on. You very well may have a bad sensor that is making the check engine light come on. This light is to let you know there is some kind of fault with your engine, and should be checked into right away. It would depend on how low on oil you are talking about here. If it isn't much then the oil probably has nothing to do with the light. I wouldn't take a chance on it. If its below the add mark, then you are in trouble, and in danger of destroying the engine totally, if you haven't already. If you are not below the add mark, then its probably something like a bad sensor causing the engine to shake.

AAAaawwww yeah next u are going to b walking.... not having oil can cause other problems.... n then for shaken also it can b ur tires or some but more likely NO OIL..
Your car may need oil, but it depends how low your oil level is. If it is at or near then minimum on the dipstick then the shaking will be due to another problem. If the car shakes more and more as you go faster, then the problem might be that your wheels need balancing. Each wheel has a little lead weight on the outside that is put there by the guys that fit your tires. They have a maching that tells them where to put the weight. If you haven't had your wheels balanced in awhile or the weight has fallen off or been knocked off because you hit a curb or something then that could be the reason for the vibration.


If the shaking is coming from the engine then it may be that you need to have the timing adjusted. The timing is crucial, because it makes sure that the spark plugs fire at the optimal time. If the timing is off then the engine doesn't run right and it is not efficient and may chug. A garage can help you with this too. They use a timing light (like a strobe light) to adjust the timing.


But if you are really low on oil make sure you have enough. And if you have a big leak then once you can try putting in duralube and it will help protect your engine when the oil gets low.

You must never let the oil get low. This damages the engine. Check the oil dipstick and wipe it with a white napkin, If the oil is very dark brown to black, then you will need an oil change. If it is a light brown to gold color, then just add oil untill you reach the right oil level. Too much oil is also a bad thing.

Yes, an engine shaking slightly or ticking softly is the sound of a much needed oil change. If it's sounding like a ';train'; you have a rod that is getting ready to go. I cannot stress it enough....change the oil EVERY 3,000 miles. You can drive cars FOREVER if you just spend $20 bucks every 3K. It takes twenty minutes tops to change it yourself and I'm a woman!!! Next car you get, make sure to change/check the oil regularly...it's the most important thing you can do!! Good luck to you!!
