But adding too much oil can cause it to FOAM and that would not let the oil to flow and lubricate - causing premature engine damage.





That has to be so much oil for the bottom of the crank shaft touch the top of the oil in the pan.

I think it could happen, because too much oil will increase the resistance to engines and causing the temperature to rise above normal level.


specially on diesel engines .


so, oil level must be exact in full mark when the engine is cold.
